Charismatic footballer Cristiano Ronaldo arrived at the practice center of Italy’s Siri A club Juventus on Tuesday after a 10-week long break. The 35-year-old Portuguese player drove himself to the Juventus practice center in a jeep. The player, who was FIFA’s best footballer five times, underwent a medical test after reaching here. After medical and physical examination, he arrived for practice with other team players.
Juventus players started personal practice on 4 May. On the same day, Ronaldo reached Turin, the team’s home city, after spending time at his home in Portugal during the lockdown. He remained in isolation for two weeks after arriving here. Ronaldo played his last match in the league on 8 March. Their goal in this match helped the team beat Inter Milan 2–0. Siri A was postponed after this match due to the worsening condition of the Corona virus epidemic in Italy.
Italy is among the countries worst affected by this epidemic where more than 32,000 people have died due to corona virus infection. The league is hopeful that they will be able to resume the tournament from 13 June, but the new announcement by the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) could shock its efforts. The FIGC said that according to the government guidelines, all its tournaments, including Siri A, would be suspended till June 14. Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte said on Saturday that he needed more guarantees before he was given the green signal to restart football.
